I believe in art that is tangible, tactile, bold and kinetic. Narrative supersedes realism. Experience supersedes subject. My work has evolved from a passion for great design, a love of color and texture, and a belief that successful artwork will ultimately connect on an emotional level. It is the impression of nature’s harmony and the wonder it stimulates that interest me. I choose the bright hues and viscosity of oil paint on canvas to employ my means of expression. My creative process includes deconstructing color and form and reorganizing them into short expressive brush strokes. Generously applied layers of paint create a thick sculpture like feel highly activated by directional light resulting in a deep rich active image. The conversation and social interaction that is prompted by my art is as important as the art itself.
